The Pakistan Cricket Board wants the BCCI to provide written proof that the Indian government has refused to allow the team to travel to Pakistan for next year’s Champions Trophy due to security reasons. A PCB source said this. The host board wants the matter to be resolved quickly as the tournament is to be held in February-March next year. The ICC’s annual conference will be held in Colombo on July 19, in which discussion on the ‘hybrid model’ is not on the agenda. Under this, the Indian team will play its matches in the UAE.
A PCB source said, “If the Indian government has not given permission, then it has to be given in writing and the BCCI should give that letter to the ICC immediately. We are constantly saying that the BCCI should inform the ICC in writing about the team going to Pakistan for the tournament five to six months in advance. The BCCI has always been saying that the decision to play in Pakistan will be that of the government, so it should take a decision on this soon.”

Let us tell you that in the 2023 ODI Asia Cup also, India’s matches were played in Sri Lanka on a hybrid model. The PCB has submitted the draft of the Champions Trophy program to the ICC in which all the matches of India, semi-finals and finals will be held in Lahore, the match between India and Pakistan is to be held on March 1. It remains to be seen whether the Indian government sends the team there or not.
Let us tell you that the tournament will start on February 19 in Karachi and the final will be held on March 9 in Lahore. There will be one reserve day in the final.
