Government gives big relief to mobile phone users, issued 2 new series for messages and calls, will get rid of fraud

New Delhi. The government has taken a big step for mobile phone users. This will provide great relief to consumers who are troubled by promotional calls and messages. You must have often seen promotional calls and messages from companies while using your phone. Many times you may have even blacklisted these numbers. But despite this, these companies keep calling you from new numbers. Since till now these numbers were such that users were not able to differentiate between promotional calls and messages. But now the government has decided to allocate different series for both. Apart from this, TRAI is also going to make new rules to improve the experience of users. It is still being said that these rules will be implemented within 100 days of the formation of the new government.

TRAI and DoT are working together

The Department of Telecommunications and TRAI have come together to launch a new mobile number series. Under this, 140 mobile number series will be allowed promotional voice calling and messages, while numbers with 160 number series will be allowed financial voice calling and messages. Now soon India’s big telecom operators Jio, Vi, Airtel will implement these numbers across the country. After which consumers will get relief from promotional calls and messages coming from similar numbers. According to the government, after the implementation of this rule, it will help in preventing cyber and financial fraud through mobile.

Phishing messages and calls are a big problem in India

It is also worth noting that phishing messages have become a big problem in India. Fraudsters easily cheat mobile users with such promotional calls and messages. Some messages are actually useful, while fraud messages also come in between. In such a situation, due to lack of technical knowledge, many users become easy prey for these fraudsters. This type of fraud is called phishing. According to statistics, consumers in India receive about 1 to 12 to 15 crore phishing messages every month. Along with this, statistics also say that one out of every 12 people becomes a victim of this type of fraud every month. About 3 lakh people become victims of this type of fraud every month, but only around 40 thousand people report it. In such a situation, if this rule is implemented, then such fraudsters can also be controlled.
