Adolescence: The most important stage of life, a healthy future is created only with proper guidance.

Why is a balanced diet important for teenagers? Know the diet plan

New Delhi, May 16 (IANS). Adolescence is the time when a child gradually moves towards becoming an adult. This stage occurs between the ages of approximately 10 to 19 years. During this period, many physical and mental changes occur in the body, which is called puberty. Changes start taking place in the body of both boys and girls, such as increasing in height, changing voice, change in body shape etc. Children become very sensitive at this time.

The Ministry of AYUSH said that during adolescence, the mood of children changes rapidly and sometimes their self-confidence also fluctuates. If they do not get proper guidance and understanding at this time, they may take wrong decisions. Many times they may follow the wrong path due to bad company, intoxication or peer pressure. Therefore, right advice and counseling is very important at this age so that they can understand their feelings properly and move in the right direction.

Life circumstances have different effects on every child. Some events can affect children’s mental health, such as the birth of a sibling, the death of a loved one or pet, physical or mental abuse, poverty or homelessness, natural disasters, violence in the home, moving to a new place or starting a new school, being bullied at school, taking on more responsibilities than their age, or parental separation.

Adolescent girls also face some additional problems, such as menstrual problems, discrimination, sexual crimes, infections or unwanted pregnancies. Nowadays, lack of physical activity, malnutrition, obesity, tobacco and drug habits and mental health problems are common among adolescents. To prevent these, proper guidance and healthy lifestyle is necessary.

The role of parents is very important. They should inculcate good habits in children like daily routine, menstrual cycle, good behavior and right eating habits. Children should be motivated for yoga, sports and physical activities. Parents should become a good example for children, listen to them patiently and give them enough time.

Children should not be overly restrained or criticized. One should ignore the small things and appreciate the good things. Instead of explaining to them, one should lovingly guide them and respect their feelings.
