New Delhi, December 21 (IANS). Menopause is a phase in women’s lives that brings both physical and mental challenges. At this time, hormonal changes take place in the body, due to which problems like sudden feeling of heat, sweating, mood swings, fatigue and bone weakness begin. In such a situation, taking some natural remedies can provide relief from these problems. One of these natural remedies is Moringa i.e. Drumstick.

Moringa has been considered a medicine in Ayurveda for centuries. Vitamins and minerals essential for the body are found in abundance in its leaves, pods and seeds. It contains high amounts of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron and Calcium. Apart from this, antioxidants like quercetin and flavonoids are present in Moringa, which protect the body from stress. Vitamin E helps maintain sexual health in women. Its fiber properties keep the digestive system strong and provide relief from joint pain.

At the time of menopause, the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body start decreasing. It affects bones, skin and mood. Moringa helps in this process in many ways. The calcium present in Moringa is helpful in strengthening bones, which can reduce problems like osteoporosis.

Quercetin and flavonoids provide relief from problems like hot flashes and night sweats during menopause.

A research has found that regular consumption of Moringa increases antioxidant levels in the body, which reduces mental stress and fatigue. From an Ayurvedic perspective, Moringa balances the Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), which is beneficial for both physical and mental health.

Moringa is not limited to menopause only. It increases immunity, making the body capable of fighting infections. Moringa is helpful in controlling blood sugar for diabetic patients. It also helps in detoxifying the liver and improves heart health, energy levels and mental freshness.

Moringa can be taken in the form of leaves, powder or tea, but be sure to consult a doctor first.
