New Delhi, December 16 (IANS). Vitamins are as essential as food, water and air to keep the body healthy. Vitamins are important for every part of the body, from bones, skin to muscles. Vitamin deficiency shows its effects gradually. People often ignore the initial small symptoms. In such a situation, caution is the only protection.
Vitamin deficiency is harmful for health. Health experts say that it is very important to recognize these signs on time, because they can be signs of major health problems. Even without a blood test, vitamin deficiency can be determined by these signs in the body.
Vitamin deficiency is mainly caused by wrong and unbalanced diet, excessive consumption of junk food and processed food, weak digestion, spending less time in sunlight, taking medicines for a long time, stress and irregular daily routine. Health experts say that the deficiency of every vitamin gives some indications.
Deficiency of Vitamin B12 includes feeling tired frequently, tingling in hands and feet, weakening of memory, dizziness, burning or redness on the tongue and quick change of mood.
Due to deficiency of Vitamin D, a person experiences pain in bones and joints, back pain, weakness in muscles and gets tired quickly. People who spend less time in sunlight often have this complaint. At the same time, bleeding gums, delayed wound healing, weak immunity, frequent colds and skin becoming dry and lifeless are signs of Vitamin C deficiency.
Symptoms of vitamin A deficiency include reduced vision at night (night blindness), dry eyes, dry skin and increased susceptibility to infection. Deficiency of Vitamin E includes dryness of skin, excessive hair fall, muscle weakness and nerve related problems.
Ayurveda links vitamin deficiency with metal decay and fire retardation. When digestion power is weak, nutrients from food are not absorbed properly. Therefore Ayurveda advises that just eating is not enough, it is also important to digest it properly. At the same time, according to modern medicine, vitamin deficiency can be accurately detected through a blood test. If symptoms appear, you should get yourself checked by a doctor and supplements should not be taken without consultation.
Experts advise that vitamin deficiency can be easily avoided by adopting a balanced diet, adequate sunlight and regular routine, however, do not consider every tiredness or weakness as vitamin deficiency. If symptoms are visible for a long time then a doctor should be consulted immediately.
