Are you sweating every day in the gym, still not losing weight? Know the real reason for this

New Delhi, March 8 (IANS). Nowadays, people sweat for hours in the gym to stay fit and lose weight, but when they measure their weight after a few days, the same old number is visible. In such a situation, despair begins to set in. But the question here is that when so much hard work is being done, then why is the weight not being reduced? Actually, from the point of view of science, weight loss is not determined only by sweating in the gym. This is a process in which many body habits and a variety of factors work together.

Experts say that our weight depends on how many calories we take in and how many calories we spend throughout the day. If there is no balance between the energy coming into the body and the energy spent, then the pace of weight loss may slow down. Many people assume that going to the gym for an hour burns more calories, but in reality this is not always the case. The body starts compensating for the energy spent during exercise in other ways.

According to health experts, workout is very important, but understanding its correct method and balance is equally important. For example, strength training i.e. weight lifting exercises helps in building muscles. When muscles increase in the body, the metabolism of the body increases. The body burns more calories even while resting. Therefore, it is considered important to include not only cardio exercise but also strength training in the fitness routine.

Diet plays an important role in the process of weight loss. Many times people think that if they are eating healthy food then their weight will automatically reduce, but here a small mistake is made. Even if healthy food is eaten in large quantities, the calories present in it can slow down the pace of weight loss. For example, many food items like nuts, ghee, avocado, smoothies and dry fruits are considered good for health, but they are also high in calories. If these are consumed excessively then excess energy can get accumulated in the body.

Apart from this, the habit of frequent snacking can also become a hindrance in weight loss. Many people keep eating small meals throughout the day and do not even realize how many calories they have consumed. Sweet beverages, sugary coffee or cold drinks also add extra calories to the body. Similarly, protein deficiency can also be a big problem. When the body does not get enough protein, muscles do not become strong and metabolism may also slow down. Therefore, experts recommend that every meal should contain some source of protein, such as eggs, pulses, cheese, tofu or fish.
