Bad smell is coming even after washing clothes, then get fragrance and freshness with these measures

Mumbai, December 31 (IANS). In winter, the problem of moisture and bad smell in clothes persists. Many times it happens that we wash clothes and keep them in the cupboard, but after a few days, as soon as we take them out, they start smelling. These point to bacteria and fungus present in the clothes, which cause foul smell. This not only reduces the freshness of your clothes but also causes discomfort in wearing.

In such a situation, it is important that we wash our clothes properly and adopt some simple home remedies to keep them fragrant.

Lemon juice: Lemon juice is very beneficial not only for enhancing the taste of food but also for removing bad odor from clothes. After washing wet clothes, add a few drops of lemon juice to them and mix the clothes gently. Lemon juice kills the bacteria present in the clothes, thereby eliminating the smell completely. Apart from this, the mild sourness of lemon helps in refreshing the clothes.

Vinegar: Vinegar is a natural remedy that helps in both cleaning and freshness of clothes. Add a few drops of vinegar to the wet clothes and mix gently. Vinegar destroys bacteria and completely removes the smell of clothes. Apart from this, vinegar also preserves the colors, keeping them looking like new clothes for a longer period of time. After applying it on clothes, wash them normally.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is a home remedy that helps in absorbing and cleaning odors from clothes. Adding baking soda to wet clothes helps in maintaining their smell. It eliminates dirt and bacteria accumulated in clothes. To use baking soda, sprinkle it on clothes or dissolve it in water and dip the clothes in it and leave it for some time. Later wash the clothes as usual. This keeps the clothes fragrant and fresh for a long time.

Lavender Oil: Lavender oil is not only useful for its fragrance but also for keeping clothes fresh. Add 4-5 drops of lavender oil to wet clothes and mix well. This oil kills bacteria and eliminates odor completely. Moreover, its fragrance remains in clothes for a long time. After applying lavender oil on clothes, wash them as usual.
