New Delhi, May 18 (IANS). Nature has given many such fruits and flowers, which are not only beautiful to look at, full of taste but are also full of medicinal properties. The name of one such fruit is Kadam, which is full of nutrients and is very dear to Lord Shri Krishna.
The Environment, Forest and Water Department of the Government of Bihar has given detailed information about the usefulness and properties of the Kadam Kadam tree, making people aware of the importance of local trees. This tree, dear to Shri Krishna, is not only very beautiful to look at, but its flowers, fruits and bark are full of medicinal properties. Kadam is a huge and evergreen tree.
Its most special identity is its fragrant, round and soft yellow flowers, which spread their sweet fragrance from a distance. Due to the fragrance and beauty of these flowers, they are considered favorite of Lord Krishna. The department believes that the Kadam tree is a wonderful combination of beauty, health, medicinal properties and spirituality.
Kadam is also beneficial for health and its consumption provides many amazing benefits. Both the flowers and fruits of Kadam are edible. In local traditions, delicious chutneys and other traditional dishes are made from its flowers and fruits. Antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients are found in abundance in Kadam. Its regular use strengthens the digestive system. It also provides relief from stomach problems like indigestion and diarrhea.
It also purifies blood and provides relief from skin related problems. Steps are also beneficial for oral health. Gargling with its bark can also reduce gum problems and bad breath.
In Ayurveda, the bark, leaves and flowers of Kadam are used to treat problems like fever, diabetes, inflammation and to reduce stress. The decoction of its flowers is also considered beneficial in sore throat and cough.
