People inspired by spiritual and religious force dedicate everything at the feet of mother Jagatjanani. But it is also necessary to take some precautions before breaking a week -long fast (or long fast). Not only from a religious point of view, but also from scientific terms!
Research suggests that long-term fasting and fasting reduces the activities of the digestive system. The amount of enzymes in the stomach and intestines reduces the amount of acid. Metabolism (energy expenditure) decreases because the body comes into energy saving conditions and an imbalance in electrolytes (eg sodium, potassium) may occur, especially if enough water or fluid is not taken.

According to scientific articles, when the fast is long, during the break, one should start with nutritious and easily digested foods. Ayurveda also advises to open a fast carefully. Remedies and suggestions have been given in various texts from Charak Samhita.
Fasting with too much restriction on calories or water for nine consecutive days, especially if not done thoughtfully, can also cause risks such as fatigue, nutrient deficiency, muscle loss and electrolyte imbalance. Its effects depend on the age, health status and type of fasting.
Within 24 hours, your body almost eliminates its sugar reserves. By the third day, your entire metabolism begins to be transformed. A study published in 2024 in Nature Metabolism found that fasting of just three days leads to thousands of protein changes in many organs, including the brain.
After nine -day fast, if you are healthy and in normal conditions, start with fluid. First of all, take things like water, lemonade, coconut water, light curd or buttermilk. This will help in improving the liquid level falling in the body.
Always start with soup and fruit juice or ripe fruit. Along with this, spicy, fried or too much fatty things give a sudden heavy work to the body when the digestive system is dull. Take small parts (small miles) on the first day and gradually return in normal amounts. Eating too much food at once can make you feel stomach ache or heaviness.
