New Delhi, March 19 (IANS). The months of March and April are full of diseases. At this time the weather changes rapidly and moves from winter to summer.
March and April are considered the time of spring. After the change of autumn and winter season comes the arrival of spring season. While one has to face the problems of accumulation of phlegm in autumn and winter season, in the spring season, the phlegm accumulated in the body starts melting rapidly, due to which problems like cold, cough, lethargy, digestive weakness and heaviness can increase. In such a situation, it is necessary to bring changes in diet and routine.
Ayurveda believes that waking up early in the morning and exercising in spring has many benefits for the body. If proper eating habits and daily routine are adopted during this season, the body remains balanced and seasonal diseases can be prevented. First let us know what changes should be brought in the diet.
Include things that reduce phlegm in the diet and try to keep the diet from bitter and astringent. It is believed that bitter and astringent food eaten in spring keeps the body healthy throughout the year. Include neem leaves, old wheat, moong dal and barley in your diet. Drink boiled water as much as possible because mosquitoes also increase in the spring months and diseases start spreading quickly.
It is also important to avoid some things in the month of spring. Reduce the intake of sweet, sour and salty things in your diet. Do not consume sweet things made from ghee and oil. It is also advised not to eat curd in spring season. You can drink buttermilk instead of curd. Consume buttermilk only with black salt and cumin powder. Due to this, phlegm does not accumulate in the body. It is advisable not to sleep during the day during the spring months. It is believed that sleeping during the day increases the amount of phlegm in the body and the body feels heavy and lethargic.
