Cold cotton pad instantly relieves eye fatigue and irritation in summer, use it like this

New Delhi, April 19 (IANS). Rising summer temperatures, heat, humidity and working for hours in front of the screen are big problems for the eyes. Therefore, irritation, fatigue, swelling and redness in the eyes have become common. Continuous working on mobile, computer or laptop causes dry eyes and increases discomfort. In such a situation, in search of home and natural remedy, cold cotton pad is the easiest, cheapest and effective method.

The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has also advised the use of cold cotton pads for relief from eye fatigue and irritation. This remedy is completely safe and people of any age, from children to the elderly, can easily adopt it. It does not cost anything and the eyes feel refreshed within a few minutes.

To use a cold cotton pad, first wash your face with clean water and wipe the sweat thoroughly. After this take a clean and soft cotton pad. Soak them thoroughly in cold water. Lightly squeeze out excess water, so the pad is slightly damp, but not dripping. Now lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and place these cold pads on both eyes. Rest like this for at least 10 minutes. During this, take deep breaths and keep your mind calm.

The coolness instantly relaxes the eye muscles, reduces swelling and relieves fatigue. Blood circulation also improves. If you want, you can add a few drops of rose water to cold water, this will provide more freshness and relaxation.

Now the question is when and how often to do this? So do it in the evening after work when eyes feel tired, after spending too much time on screens, when there is heat and sun irritation and once daily or as needed.

Eye care is given great importance in Ayurveda. Cold water compress cools the heat in the eyes and keeps them healthy. This solution is very beneficial especially for those people who work on computer or mobile throughout the day.

However, if there is persistent pain, blurriness or any serious problem in the eyes, then definitely consult a doctor, but for everyday fatigue and irritation, a cold cotton pad is the best home remedy. Always use a clean cotton pad and the water should be cool, but not ice cold. Apply the pad only with your eyes closed.
