Deep sleep at night is the true cure, know what Ayurveda says

रात की गहरी नींद ही है सच्चा इलाज, जानें क्या कहता है आयुर्वेद

New Delhi, October 28 (IANS). We all know what a profound impact good sleep has on our lives. If sleep is not complete then the next day is full of fatigue, irritability and lethargy. But, when sleep is deep and balanced, both body and mind feel refreshed. Even in Ayurveda, ‘Nidra’ is considered one of the three main pillars of life.

In Ayurveda, sleep has been called natural at night. Natural sleep at night is essential for the balance of body and mind. When we sleep on time and get deep sleep, our body repairs itself. New cells are formed, muscles are relaxed and mental stress is reduced. Good sleep enhances skin glow, maintains energy and also increases lifespan.

Sleep has also been given an important place in the daily routine of Ayurveda. It has been said that when we have the right balance of sleep in our daily routine, the body’s digestion, heart, brain and immune system all work better.

At the same time, staying awake till late at night, sleeping untimely or sleeping for a long time during the day, all these habits spoil the natural rhythm of the body. Therefore, it has been said that one should sleep in a calm, comfortable environment at night and avoid oversleeping during the day.

The best time to sleep is 2-3 hours after sunset. At that time the body naturally starts going into a state of rest. Before sleeping, one should stay away from mobile, TV or bright lights so that the mind can calm down. Things like light music, an aroma lamp or meditation also help deepen sleep.

In Ayurveda, good sleep is considered not just rest but a medicine. It stabilizes the mind, heals the body and gives peace to the soul. That is why it is said that when you sleep at the right time and in the right way, not only your body remains healthy, but life also becomes beautiful and balanced.
