New Delhi, June 7 (IANS). On the occasion of ‘World Bicycle Day’, ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ was organized at JLN Stadium. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, actor Vikrant Massey, boxer Nupur Sheoran and actor-model Ragini Dwivedi attended the event.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, “Today is the 77th edition of ‘Sunday on Cycle’. I am happy that when I started ‘Sunday on Cycle’, there were 50 cyclists in this stadium and today you have thousands, so it seems that the country has started moving towards cycling.”
He said that cycling has many benefits simultaneously. Bicycle is such a thing which keeps mental health good, protects the environment and saves oil. Therefore we should use bicycles.
Mansukh Mandaviya appealed to the people and said that not just on Sunday, but we can decide that we should do one trip by bicycle every day. Be it vegetable market, nearby office, going to play cricket or other sports, we should use bicycle for such places.
At the same time, Delhi Government’s Education Minister Ashish Sood took part in the cycle rally organized in Janakpuri, Delhi. He gave the message to the people to stay fit and protect the environment. During this, he inspired people of all ages to adopt a healthy lifestyle by cycling.
Ashish Sood said that regular cycling keeps the body fit, improves health and also saves the expenditure on vehicle fuel. He appealed to the people to promote the use of bicycles in daily life.
People of all age groups including children, youth and senior citizens participated in the program with enthusiasm and supported the Fit India campaign by cycling.
