'Diability' 21st century disease, which does not handle life will be heavy on life

New Delhi, 27 September (IANS). Nowadays a new word in the health world is in the headlines. This is being called diabesity. It is not difficult to understand. This one word is a combination of two major problems. That is, when the weight of a person increases as well as blood sugar also starts to get out of control, then the doctor calls it ‘diabetes’. It is not just a disease, but a growing ‘public health crisis’.

According to the World Health Organization, 65 crore people are facing obesity and 53 crore people are struggling with diabetes. India is also not untouched by this crisis. The 2023 ICMR-Indianabi study states that about 100 million people in the country are suffering from diabetes and 130 million people are in pre-dibitic condition. Research says that the risk of type-2 diabetes in obese people increases by 80–90 percent.

Insulin resistance – Obesity makes the body’s cells less sensitive to ‘insulin’. This is the biggest root of type-2 diabetes. Visral fat (abdominal fat) – Fat stored on the waist and abdomen causes swelling and hormonal imbalance in the body. Lifestyle Factor – Low sleep, stress, fast food and physical inactivity intensifies this problem.

Due to diabetes, a person not only has a problem of diabetes and obesity, but it becomes the root of many serious diseases. The risk of heart attack and stroke doubles. Kidney disease and some cancers can occur, including high blood pressure and fatty liver.

Scientists believe that dealing with diabetes is not possible only with medicines. It is a lifestyle disease, whose solution is also hidden in lifestyle. It is advisable to walk or workout at least 30 minutes daily. Select a diet with fiber, protein and low-GI (glycemic index) and complete sleep.
