Do not ignore the symptoms of stroke, ‘rescue’ formula will help.

Forgetting name is not weakness of memory, it is smartness of brain, understand mathematics.

New Delhi, March 7 (IANS). Stroke or brain attack is a serious and life-threatening condition. This happens when there is a blockage in blood reaching the brain, which can cause brain cells to get damaged. In such a situation, every minute counts, because the sooner treatment is received, the better are the chances of recovery.

The National Health Mission (NHM) advises not to ignore the symptoms of stroke, as timely identification and prompt action can save lives. In such a situation, NHM gives information about easy and effective prevention formula. The easiest way to remember the main symptoms of a stroke is ‘prevention’.

Delayed stroke means permanent damage to the brain. For this, immediately reaching the hospital, clot-busting medicines or other treatments can be given, which helps in recovery. To prevent stroke, control blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol, quit smoking and alcohol, exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet. At the same time, the ‘Rescue’ formula explains the symptoms easily-

B means arms (weakness in arms): Ask the person to raise both arms. If one arm droops or feels weak, it may be a sign of a stroke.

Ch means face (face unequal): Ask to smile. Pay attention if one side of the face droops or looks uneven.

Aa means voice (difficulty speaking): Ask the person to say or repeat a simple sentence. If the voice is unclear, stammering or difficult to speak, then it is a big danger.

And meaning time: If any of the above symptoms are seen then do not waste time immediately. Call 108, call an ambulance and reach the nearest hospital (where CT scan is available, like a district hospital or medical college).

According to health experts, these symptoms appear suddenly and mostly affect one side of the body. Other signs may include sudden loss of balance, blurred vision, or severe headache.

Stroke is also called the ‘silent killer’ because it sometimes comes without warning, but ‘prevention’ formula allows early detection in more than 90 percent of cases.
