New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). With the onset of winter, cold hands and feet, lethargy in the body and reduced blood circulation become common complaints. In such a situation, if there is a tingling sensation in your hands and feet even after consuming lakhs of hot things, then the practice of Parvatasana is very beneficial for you.

The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India describes Parvatasana as an easy and effective solution, daily practice of Parvatasana provides many benefits, it accelerates blood circulation in the body, strengthens the shoulders and is also helpful in removing many chronic problems.

Parvatasana means mountain, when this asana is done the body looks like the peak of a mountain. It is done while sitting in Vajrasana or Padmasana, so people of all ages can easily practice it.

Experts tell the correct way to practice Parvatasana, for which first of all sit comfortably on the mat in Vajrasana or Sukhasana posture. Take both hands above the head and lock the fingers together. While inhaling, pull the hands upwards, keep the shoulders away from the ears, keep the back and waist straight. Stay in this posture for 15 to 20 seconds and take deep breaths. After this, slowly bring the hands down and come back to the starting position. Repeat this 5 to 10 times.

If we look at the main benefits of practicing Parvatasana, the list is long. This increases blood circulation in the body and keeps hands and feet warm. The pain and stiffness of shoulders, neck and waist goes away. Lungs become strong, breathing goes deep. The spine remains flexible and straight. Also beneficial in thyroid and diabetes. Also stress, anxiety and headache are reduced. This strengthens the digestive system and removes the problem of indigestion.

Experts say that doing Parvatasana for just 5 to 10 minutes makes a tremendous difference in the body. This is an effective yoga practice. However, some precautions should also be taken. High blood pressure patients, those who have had a serious injury or operation in the shoulder or neck, have the problem of dizziness and pregnant women should also not practice Parvatasana without the advice of a doctor or expert.
