New Delhi, May 17 (IANS). Now only a few days are left for World Yoga Day. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India is continuously sharing new information to spread the importance of Yoga to the common people. In this sequence, the ministry has given detailed information about Matsyasana.
According to the ministry, if you are feeling strain and fatigue in your eyes, sore throat and stiff back, it is a sign from your body that it needs a little extra care. Due to today’s busy life and continuous use of screens, these problems have become common. Complaints of eye fatigue, neck and throat stiffness and back pain are increasing among people who work on computers, mobiles or laptops for long periods of time.
In such a situation, yoga experts say that Matsyasana is an excellent yoga to deal with these problems. Matsyasana is also called ‘Fish Pose’. This asana makes the spine flexible, opens the chest and reduces the tension in the shoulders and neck. Regular exercise strengthens the muscles of the neck, throat and back. Eye fatigue is reduced and breathing capacity increases.
This asana also helps in keeping the thyroid gland healthy. Along with reducing stress and anxiety, it also increases the circulation of energy in the body. According to the ministry, small and conscious habits like practicing yoga for a few minutes daily can make a huge positive change in lifestyle.
To practice Matsyasana, first lie down on your back on the mat. Keep the palms below the body. The elbows should remain on the ground. While inhaling, raise the chest and move the head back so that the upper part of the head touches the ground. Stay in this posture for a few seconds and then return to normal position. In the beginning, practice under the supervision of a yoga expert. Also, pregnant women suffering from serious illness should start exercising only after expert advice.
