Anand, 23 September (IANS). A health camp was organized at the Vasad Group Arogya Center in Anand district of Gujarat under the ‘Healthy Women Strong Family’ campaign launched on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. A large number of women from Vasad and nearby villages participated in this camp.
In the health camp, normal OPD services including dental diseases, mental health, eye diseases, orthopedics, pediatrics were provided. The patients who came to the camp were examined free of cost and free medicines were also distributed to the needy.
Health Officer (CDHO) Piyush Patel of Anand district said that the main objective of this campaign, which started on September 17 to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, is to provide better health services to women and their families.
He said, “This campaign is an important step towards empowering families giving priority to women’s health. Such medical camps are being organized all over India, so that more and more people can get the benefit of health services.”
In this camp organized at Vasad Group Arogya Center, doctors and employees of the health center together contributed significantly in making it successful. All types of specialist doctors served in the camp and patients were provided with free diagnosis as well as medicines.
Local women appreciated this initiative and described it as an increase in their health awareness.
Priyanka Goswami of Vasad village, who took part in the camp, said, “This camp was very beneficial for us. We got free investigation and medicines, which is a big relief for us.”
Similarly, Bhavna Parmar said, “Such camps are very important in villages, because this gives us the advice and treatment of specialist doctors easily.”
At the same time, a woman Jigisha Patel said that a medical camp was set up here. I also came here and got my body checkup done. I liked it very much because if I had done it somewhere else, it would have been very expensive.
Pallavi Bhoi, Joshna Parmar, and Krishna Patel also appreciated the campaign and said that it will prove to be helpful in improving the health of women.
Under the ‘Healthy Women Strong Family’ campaign, such health camps are going on across the country. This initiative not only prefer the health of women, but is also an important step towards empowering the family and society.
