लगातार बैठने की आदत बन सकती है बीमारियों की जड़, जानिए आयुर्वेदिक समाधान

New Delhi, October 30 (IANS). We spend most of the day sitting, whether in office or home. We keep sitting in front of the laptop in the office, while driving or at home while watching TV. This may seem common to you, but gradually this habit of yours becomes the root of many diseases.

It is said in Ayurveda that excessive sitting, sleeping or laziness is harmful for the body. Continuous sitting increases Vata dosha, which affects the blood flow, digestive power and mental energy of the body.

First of all, the problem of back pain and spine weakness. Sitting in one place for hours increases pressure on the spine and back pain becomes common. To avoid this, get up every 30-40 minutes and walk for 2 minutes. Also do Bhujangasana or Shashankasana daily. Apart from this, daily light massage with sesame oil on the back and neck is also beneficial.

The second big problem is obesity and metabolic disorders. Sitting for a long time weakens the digestive fire of the body, due to which food is not digested properly and fat starts accumulating. Take lukewarm water with lemon and honey in the morning on an empty stomach and after having food, walk at least 100 steps.

The third problem is increase in blood sugar and heart risk. Due to sitting, glucose is not utilized in the blood and cholesterol starts increasing. This increases the risk of diabetes and heart diseases. Do stretching once every hour and include things like bottle gourd, fenugreek seeds and cinnamon in your diet.

Continuous sitting also affects the digestive system. Gas, constipation and flatulence become very common. In such a situation, it is beneficial to drink Triphala powder mixed with lukewarm water after meals.

Neck and shoulder pain (cervical pain) is also a result of this. Constantly sitting bent over a mobile phone or computer can put pressure on the nerves of the neck. To fix this, do light stretching and cervical massage with sesame oil.
