Hair fall can be prevented with proper nutrition, timely identification is important

New Delhi, April 20 (IANS). In today’s time, hair fall and thinning has become a matter of serious concern for women. Many people associate it with pollution, hair products or stress, but according to scientists, hair health depends not only on external care but also on the nutrition present inside the body. When the body does not get the necessary vitamins and minerals, it directly affects the hair roots, due to which gradually the hair starts thinning and their fall increases.

Nutritional deficiency can be corrected if identified at the right time. Especially in situations like menstruation, pregnancy, irregular eating habits and stress, the body becomes more sensitive to the deficiency of some essential elements.

Iron comes first among the most important nutrients. Due to iron deficiency in the body, the supply of oxygen to the hair roots reduces. Due to this, hair growth slows down and hair fall increases. Many times hemoglobin appears normal in the blood report, but the iron stores in the body are low, which is called ferritin. Research shows that adequate levels of iron are necessary for good hair growth.

Apart from this, Vitamin D also plays an important role in hair health. It helps in keeping the hair growth cycle balanced. Its deficiency is more visible in people who are less exposed to sunlight. According to scientific research, its deficiency can slow down hair regrowth and reduce density. Although it takes time to improve its levels, when taken in the right quantity it helps in strengthening the hair.

Vitamin B12 is also important for hair, as it helps in the formation of red blood cells and maintaining energy levels in the body. Its deficiency affects the oxygen supply in the body, due to which hair can become weak and lifeless.

Zinc helps repair hair roots and keep the scalp healthy. It is also involved in the process of making proteins. Its deficiency can increase hair fall and cause irritation or dryness in the scalp. Poor digestion can also affect its absorption.

Talking about protein, hair is mainly made of a protein called keratin. When the body does not get enough protein, hair growth slows down and they become weak and start breaking. Many times, due to dieting or busy lifestyle, women are not able to take enough protein, the effect of which is clearly visible on the hair.
