New Delhi, June 12 (IANS). The Health Ministry has made people aware about the importance of liver and said that healthy liver is the foundation of good health. Liver plays an important role in running many important functions of the body smoothly. For this reason it is very important to take care of it and keep it healthy.
The ministry has appealed to people to take their liver health seriously, because a healthy liver not only protects the body from diseases, but also forms the basis of a better lifestyle and long-term good health.
According to health experts, liver is an organ of the body which performs many important responsibilities without stopping. It not only helps in protecting the body from infections and various diseases, but also plays an important role in keeping the sugar level in the blood balanced. This is the reason why liver is considered an important protective shield of the body.
According to the Health Ministry, the liver also works to remove harmful and toxic substances present in the body. It filters many elements reaching the body from food, medicines and other sources, thereby keeping other parts of the body safe. If the liver does not function properly, toxic elements start accumulating in the body, which can cause many health problems.
Apart from this, liver also helps in controlling cholesterol levels. Balanced cholesterol is considered essential for better health of the heart and blood vessels. If liver function is affected, the balance of fat and cholesterol in the body may also get disturbed.
Liver also plays a very important role in the digestion process. It produces a fluid called bile, which helps in digesting fats present in food and absorbing nutrients by the body. Therefore, for a healthy digestive system, it is necessary to have a healthy liver.
Health experts say that the liver can be kept healthy by having a balanced diet, regular exercise, adequate water intake and staying away from alcohol and junk food. Also, health checkup is also necessary from time to time, so that any problem can be detected in time.
