New Delhi, July 7 (IANS). Amidst the increasing respiratory problems in children, efforts are being made to make yoga a part of a healthy lifestyle. For this purpose, a special program ‘Yogashakti-Yogic Management of Bronchial Asthma in Children’ has been organized on PM e-Vidya. In this live session, yoga experts discussed in detail the role of yoga in the management of bronchial asthma in children and useful yoga exercises were also demonstrated.
According to NCERT, the program was organized on PM e-Vidya channel 6 to 12 in the morning of 7 July 2026. This session was useful for students, parents, teachers and all health conscious people. In this program, yoga expert Krishna Kumar Gupta, yoga instructor and alumni of MDNIY gave information about yoga methods suitable for school children and their benefits.
Children also got an opportunity to interact with experts during the program.
It is noteworthy that Yoga is considered an important basis of overall health and lifestyle. Various studies have indicated that yoga, when taken as a supplement to medical treatment, may help improve some symptoms and lung function associated with asthma in children.
This initiative is an important effort towards motivating students and parents to adopt a healthy lifestyle through yoga. By joining the program, the participants could learn how regular yoga practice can be helpful in improving the overall health, respiratory capacity and mental balance of children.
Recently, International Yoga Day was celebrated across the world on 21st June. On this occasion, large scale yoga programs were organized across the country. In line with this year’s theme, people resolved to adopt yoga for a healthy lifestyle and mental balance. Group yoga sessions were organized for a large number of students.
Yoga instructors highlighted the importance of pranayam, asanas and meditation. According to experts, regular yoga practice is helpful in reducing stress, increasing immunity and improving overall health.
