Army medical teams deployed in difficult geographical conditions and inaccessible high altitude routes are fully prepared to deal with any emergency. Timely treatment and quick relief are helping a large number of devotees to continue their journey safely.
Army doctors, paramedics and medical assistants are manning special medical aid posts on the yatra route. Oxygen cylinders, life-saving medicines, first-aid kits and other essential medical equipment are available at these centres. Medical teams are providing immediate treatment to health problems caused by altitude, including difficulty in breathing, fatigue, dehydration and other medical emergencies.
