Jaipur, June 20 (IANS). Before International Yoga Day, yoga programs were organized at various places in Rajasthan on Saturday. In Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma practiced yoga at his residence with the trainees of Kalika Patrolling Unit of Rajasthan Police and Rajasthan Police Academy. He described Yoga as the basis for physical strength, mental peace and balanced life and appealed to the citizens to participate in the Yoga Day programs organized across the state.

He further wrote, “On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the people of the state are requested to actively participate in yoga programs on June 21 and make yoga a part of their daily routine. Regular yoga not only provides a healthy body and calm mind, but also lays the foundation of a positive, energetic and balanced life. Let us ensure our participation in building a healthy, strong and developed Rajasthan by adopting yoga.”
At the same time, a yoga session was organized in Jodhpur under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot. Before the main event to be held on June 21, hundreds of people did yoga and spread awareness at Gaushala Ground in Jodhpur. In this, public representatives, officers, policemen and common citizens took part in various yoga activities.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot said, “Ahead of International Yoga Day, Marudhara Sports Institute has organized a grand yoga program today, as they do every year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken yoga to the international level and introduced it to the world. Today yoga is being adopted all over the world with great enthusiasm and dedication.”
He said, “Yoga is also very important for world peace. Through it one can enjoy a dignified, disciplined and healthy life. Our Prime Minister thinks that if the citizens of India remain healthy, the country will remain healthy. Yoga is also important for world peace and welfare.”
