New Delhi, April 24 (IANS). It is said that better and deeper sleep is effective in getting rid of many problems. At the same time, sleep irregularity is said to be a silent threat to the health of body and mind. Due to busy lifestyle, work pressure and excessive use of gadgets, people are not able to get regular sleep, which is having a deep impact on their mental and physical health.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM), good and regular sleep is the cornerstone of a healthy life. If its irregularity is not taken care of in time, it can give rise to many serious problems. Sleep irregularity is often considered a minor problem, but it can gradually lead to conditions like memory loss, increased anxiety and depression.
Health experts say that for a better lifestyle, it is very important to sleep and wake up at a fixed time every day. We can avoid this silent danger by changing small habits.
If we look at the main symptoms of sleep irregularities, then weak memory and increased habit of forgetting, abnormal movements during sleep like walking or excessive beating of hands and legs. These include complaints of persistent mental stress, anxiety and depression, irritability and lack of concentration, feeling extremely tired and lethargic throughout the day.
If these symptoms are seen continuously then it should be understood that irregularity of sleep is harming both the body and mind. NHM also suggests easy measures for prevention. Experts recommend that some simple habits can be adopted to avoid sleep irregularities. The most important thing is to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. This keeps the internal clock of the body correct. Doing regular yoga or light exercise also helps improve sleep. Completely stay away from caffeinated drinks, alcohol and smoking in the evening as these are major factors that disturb sleep.
At the same time, stop using mobile, laptop or TV at least one hour before sleeping. Blue light from screens before sleep keeps the brain active and delays sleep. Doctors believe that if we include these small habits in our daily routine, then both body and mind can remain healthy. Good sleep not only increases energy but also keeps the mood good and prevents many diseases.
Health experts say that sleep should be given priority even in a busy life. If sleep problems persist, consult a doctor.
