In fact, every plant found in nature is beneficial to mankind in some way or the other; The only requirement is to have accurate knowledge of its correct use. One such plant is Sankhauli, which people often ignore considering it to be an ordinary weed, but it is a hidden storehouse of medicinal properties.

Sankhauli is a weed, which is sharp and badly sticks to clothes. It also harms animals by sticking to their skin and that is why people consider it poisonous, but it is not so. This plant is full of medicinal properties. It is known by different names in different places. It is also called cocklebur, sankahuli, small datura and harankuri; Its scientific name is Xanthium strumarium. There is no specific time for the growth of this plant, it grows throughout the year and is found mostly on the banks of rivers and in grasslands. However, one should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before consuming it as the seeds and some parts of the plant are poisonous.

Sankhauli contains phenolic acid, antioxidant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties, which help in reducing many diseases. If you are facing problem of hair fall then this plant gives very good results. It increases blood circulation in the scalp and also strengthens the hair, due to which hair falls less and new hair grows. It can be made into a paste of the plant and applied directly to the hair or can be mixed with coconut oil and boiled to massage the hair.

Sankhahuli contains high amount of collagen and is beneficial for skin and nails. It makes the skin look young and reduces wrinkles. Not only this, even if there are dark spots on the skin, its paste can be applied. Sankhahuli powder and medicine are available in the market, but please consult a doctor before using them. Sankhauli is also very beneficial to get relief from arthritis and bone pain. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which strengthen bones and also provide relief from joint pain. For this, Sankhahuli can be taken in the form of decoction. It also provides relief from body pain.
