New Delhi, January 29 (IANS). In today’s fast paced life, mental disturbance, fear, nervousness, sleeplessness and stress have become common problems. Mobile phones, work pressure and worries about the future have made humans tired from within. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH advises to do yoga. One of the many postures in yoga is ‘Kali Mudra’, by doing which a balance is maintained between mental and physical health.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Kali Mudra makes the body strong from within. This mudra helps in lightening the burden of mind, reducing negative thinking and increasing self-confidence.
According to Yoga Shastra, there are nerves in our body for the flow of energy. Of these, Sushumna Nadi is considered to be the most important, which passes through the middle of the spine. When the flow of energy in this nadi remains normal, the mind remains calm and the body remains in balance. Kali Mudra is considered helpful in clearing and activating this energy flow. Regular practice reduces mental confusion and makes it easier to meditate.
Physically, Kali Mudra improves the breathing process. Taking deep breaths in and out strengthens the lungs and improves oxygen circulation in the body. This reduces stiffness and fatigue in the body. It also provides gradual relief from stiffness caused by sitting for a long time or due to stress. Due to better blood circulation the body feels light.
Talking about mental health, the effect of Kali Mudra is considered to be very deep. Nowadays, whether children or adults, everyone lives under some mental pressure. This mudra is helpful in reducing fogginess in the mind, increasing concentration and strengthening decision making ability. It is also considered beneficial for children studying and students preparing for exams.
On an emotional level, Kali Mudra helps in releasing emotions like fear, anger and anxiety. Practicing this mudra lightens the mind and balances the emotions. The person feels more stable and secure.
Spiritually Kali Mudra is linked to the Muladhara Chakra and the Manipura Chakra. The Muladhar Chakra connects us to the ground and gives us a sense of security, while the Manipura Chakra is considered the center of self-confidence and self-confidence. Activation of both these chakras increases courage, stability and positive thinking in a person.
Kali Mudra is very easy to practice. This can be done sitting in Sukhasana or standing in Tadasana. The index fingers of both the hands are interlaced together and kept straight upwards. Inhale slowly and while exhaling, keep the feeling of leaving negative thoughts in your mind. Two to three minutes are enough in the beginning; The time can be extended later.
