New Delhi, March 29 (IANS). Nature gives us some vegetables which may not be very tasty in appearance or taste, but they are a treasure trove of qualities.
With the summer season, Kundru is easily available in the market. Kundru, which looks like Parwal, is beneficial in controlling many diseases and hormones. Fiber, Vitamin A and C are found in abundance in Kundru and its vegetable is easily prepared.
Kundru contains abundant amount of fiber, which takes care of both stomach and sugar. Consuming this vegetable keeps the sudden increase in sugar after eating food under control. This is the reason why this vegetable has been called Sanjeevani for diabetic patients. Being easy to digest, it gets digested quickly and the stomach does not have to work too hard. This vegetable is beneficial for children and elderly people.
Kundru is beneficial for both heart and cholesterol. It prevents the formation of bad cholesterol in the body and also reduces the risk of blockage of veins. If your cholesterol remains high, you can consume it three times a week. Apart from this, the amount of fiber in Kundru is very high and it is easy to digest.

Kundru contains high amount of Vitamin C, and this is the reason why consumption of Kundru increases immunity. It provides protection from minor diseases that occur with changing weather. Apart from this, Vitamin C and Vitamin A are also beneficial for hair and skin. Vitamin C and Vitamin A help in making hair and skin shine.
If you want, you can eat Kundru as a vegetable, but if you want to get the full nutrition of Kundru, then you can steam it, fry it lightly and eat it with less spices. Although it may not taste great, it is no less than a treasure for health.
