Lalu Yadav left for Delhi for treatment after his health deteriorated.

Patna, July 20 (IANS). Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Yadav left for New Delhi on Monday for better treatment. Recently, after his health deteriorated, he was taken to Delhi for further treatment.

His wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti were also present.

Before leaving from Patna, Misa Bharti told the media that Lalu Yadav’s health is now much better than before. His treatment has been going on in AIIMS, Delhi for many years and the treatment will continue there under the supervision of expert doctors.

On Friday, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s health suddenly deteriorated, after which he was admitted to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna.

Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and elder son Tej Pratap Yadav were also present with him at that time.

In the hospital, the doctors conducted many important health tests including ECG. A detailed examination of the eyes was also done, which was supervised by Dr. Vibhuti Prasanna Sinha, Head of the Ophthalmology Department.

After being kept under observation for about two hours, his condition became stable and he was discharged from the hospital.

After being discharged from the hospital, Misa Bharti also cited the poor sanitation system in Kautilya Nagar area of Patna as a reason for her deteriorating health.

During this time he also targeted the state government. Misa Bharti said that she has received information that during a college visit of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s wife, the District Magistrate (DM) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) were also present with her.

He said, “The government should decide whether the Chief Minister’s wife should get such government security and facilities. If the DM and SP were with her, then the government should tell by what right they were with the Chief Minister’s wife after leaving the public service.”

Lalu Prasad Yadav is under constant observation of doctors after kidney transplant.

About two months ago, he also went to Singapore for regular checkup. For this he had taken permission from a Delhi court.

Doctors have advised him to undergo regular checkups every three months, although his regular checkups had been affected during the last one year.

During the examination conducted in December 2025, doctors also detected cataract and retina related problems in his eyes.

After this, he underwent successful cataract and retina surgery in a private eye hospital in Delhi. Since then he is undergoing regular follow-up checkups.
