Like PM Modi, I have never taken a day off: Chandrababu Naidu

पीएम मोदी की तरह मैंने भी कभी एक दिन की छुट्टी नहीं ली: चंद्रबाबू नायडू

Amravati, 23 September (IANS). Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, while discussing health services in the assembly on Tuesday, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s working style and fitness and said that as PM Modi never took leave, I have not taken leave till date.

The Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Modi is 75 years old and is six months younger than me, but when he returns from abroad, he visit 4-5 states the next morning. Every day works with full energy. He never took leave and I did not take it.”

Naidu also emphasized the importance of balanced eating on health. He said, “Food is medicine and the kitchen is a pharmacy. If we adopt it, we can avoid diseases to a great extent.”

He jokingly said that nowadays people eat 120 years of food in 40 years, which is the root of diseases. This comment resonated in the assembly. Addressing Vice President Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, he said, “This also applies to you.”

The Chief Minister expressed deep concern about the growing C-section operations in Andhra Pradesh. He said that 56.62 percent delivery in the state is being done by C-section, which is the highest in the country.

He informed that 90 percent of these operations are being done in private hospitals. Naidu alleged that in the greed of money, doctors are discouraging normal delivery and promoting the operation.

Naidu directed Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav to call a meeting of private hospitals and give them a strict message that the government does not support this trend. He said, “The operation is the operation. The body given by God is not right to cut it without reason.

The Chief Minister also agreed that some families are already deciding according to the ‘auspicious time’, which is an interference in the natural cycle of pregnancy.

The Chief Minister dismissed the allegations of the opposition YSR Congress Party and said that the government is not privatizing medical colleges, but is developing them under the PPP model.

He said that YSRCP is running away from discussion in the assembly and is sitting outside and campaigning falsely. He said, “Politics cannot be done only by spreading lies. We are working in the interest of the public and there will be no compromise in it.”
