Castel added, “The most common mental health condition is depression, only nine percent of the people get help. Only 40 percent of people suffering from psychosis get benefits on the spot. This means that countries will have to find better ways to develop services to develop services to ensure that they are getting care and the needs are available easily.

Where services are also available, people do not reach due to cost, distance or other reasons.

An important factor preventing people suffering from mental health problems is also a fear of socially humiliated.

In addition to mental health, the program will also emphasize the prevention and control of other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which remain the major causes of death and disability worldwide.

In many people suffering from heart disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases, physical and mental conditions are related to each other.

Dr. Castel said, “Member countries have decided to emphasize some issues that are equal in all non-communicable diseases, but there are some who are associated with mental health, such as mental health of children and youth, prevention of suicides, and efforts to develop services at community level.”
