New Delhi, November 12 (IANS). It is very important to keep the body warm and strong from inside during the winter season. For this, we will have to make some changes in our food items and include some things. Rotis are definitely included in the plate of every house, but if some special natural things are added to these simple rotis, then they will work as medicine for the body in winter.

It has been proven in science that some herbs and spices help in maintaining body heat, increasing immunity and improving digestion.

Dry ginger powder:- Consumption of dry ginger in winter is considered very beneficial for controlling body temperature. Both Ayurveda and modern science believe that elements like gingerol and shogaol present in dry ginger generate warmth in the body and protect from cold and cough. Its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties strengthen the immune system. If you add half or one teaspoon of dry ginger powder to your daily flour, your rotis will be slightly spicy in taste and keep the body warm from inside.

Fenugreek Powder:- Saponins and flavonoids found in fenugreek seeds help in reducing inflammation in the body. The problem of joint pain or arthritis often increases in winter. In such a situation, flour with fenugreek powder can be beneficial. According to scientific studies, fenugreek is also helpful in controlling blood sugar and improving digestion. When you make rotis by adding 1-2 spoons of fenugreek powder to the flour, their taste may seem a bit bitter, but this bitterness gives warmth and energy to the body.

Celery Powder:- Due to heavy food in winter, the problem of flatulence or gas becomes common. In such a situation, celery is a natural solution. An element called thymol is found in celery which activates digestive enzymes and provides relief from problems like gas and indigestion. Scientific research suggests that celery relaxes the stomach muscles and makes digestion of food easier. Rotis made by adding one spoon of celery powder to the flour are full of nutrition.

Sesame Powder:- Calcium, iron, zinc and healthy fats present in sesame make the body strong. Scientific studies have found that sesame contains elements like sesamolin and sesamolin, which act as antioxidants and keep the bones as well as the skin healthy. When the skin becomes dry in winter, rotis made from sesame seeds nourish the body from within. Mixing 2-3 spoons of sesame powder in flour makes rotis beneficial for health.
