New Delhi, 30 September (IANS). We have often heard that it is good to walk after eating, it digss the food properly and the digestive system remains healthy, but the right way to walk and time also matters.
Walking after eating in Ayurveda is called ‘food movement’, if it is done at the right time, many diseases can be relieved. Walking after eating is good for complete health of the body. After eating, a small walk of 10 to 15 minutes also brings big changes in the body. Apart from digestion, it also balances the amount of blood sugar in the body, which causes sugar when more.
It also reduces the calories of the body and does not cause obesity. A small walk is also good for the health of the heart, because by taking a walk, the circulation of blood in the body is done in a good way and does not have to work hard to pump the heart.
Apart from this, a 15 -minute walk can also improve the deteriorating balance of sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, then take a walk after dinner. This keeps the balance of serotonin and melatonin hormones and both these hormones are helpful in reducing sleep and stress. It is also called ‘Hello Hormone’ in the language of science.
Light walks are also comfortable and effective for muscles and joints. This does not cause muscle tightness and remains lubrication in the joints. Due to this, there is no problem of long pain in the joints.
The method of walking is stated in both Ayurveda and science. One should never run with fast steps after eating, but a slow walk should be done for 15 minutes. Try to choose an open space or nature attached to a walk. The open air will help you refreshed and there will also be relief in stress. To make your walks more effective, you can take fennel, ginger or celery after eating. This will help protect against acidity and food will also be digested quickly.
