New Delhi, November 21 (IANS). Irregular and hectic daily routine is like inviting many physical and mental problems. However, by doing yoga and eating right, the mind as well as the body can be improved.
There are many asanas, by practicing which not only physical problems can be eliminated but future problems can also be prevented. It can also be very effective in making you mentally strong. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India advises to include one such asana in the daily routine, that is Adho Mukha Svanasana posture.
Adho Mukha Svanasana is also called Downward Facing Dog Pose, which is one of the easy and effective yoga asanas. It is also called downward dog posture in Hindi. This asana is beneficial for people of all ages.
Adho Mukha Svanasana activates the entire body simultaneously and the practice gives amazing benefits. The method of doing this is also very simple, sitting on the ground with knees and palms, keeping both hands equal to shoulders and knees equal to hips, do this step slowly and comfortably. This posture should remain for 20 to 30 seconds.
Daily practice of Adho Mukha Svanasana strengthens the muscles, this asana simultaneously strengthens all the muscles of the shoulders, arms, back, abdomen and legs. During this asana, due to the inverted ‘V’ shape, blood flow towards the head increases, which provides oxygen to the brain and removes problems like headache, fatigue. The mind becomes calm and concentrated, this asana works like a panacea for stress, anxiety and insomnia.
This asana is also beneficial for those who sit continuously for hours in the office. This makes the spine flexible, frees the waist and back that are stiff due to sitting for a long time and also improves the digestive system. Applying pressure on the stomach muscles provides relief from constipation and gas problems.
