Hyderabad, July 26 (IANS). Veteran Tollywood actor and big face of Andhra Pradesh politics Nandamuri Balakrishna is admitted in a hospital in Hyderabad. Recently, during the shooting of the film, he suffered a serious knee injury, due to which doctors had to undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, to inquire about his health, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself reached the hospital. He not only met Balakrishna, but also took complete information from the doctors about his treatment, surgery and recovery.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reached the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospital in Hyderabad to inquire about the well being of Nandamuri Balakrishna. Balakrishna comes from his family ties and is also a senior leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). There was a brief conversation between the two in the hospital, after which the Chief Minister met the doctors and got detailed information about their current condition and further treatment process.

Let us tell you, Nandamuri Balakrishna suffered a knee injury on July 21 during the shooting of his new film in Rajahmundry. After this accident during the shooting, he was first given first aid, but due to the seriousness of the injury, he was brought to Hyderabad via air ambulance the very next day. Here he was immediately admitted to the hospital and kept under the supervision of specialist doctors and many necessary medical tests were done.

Doctors’ examination revealed that Balkrishna had suffered a serious injury to the quadriceps tendon of his left leg. This tendon connects the thigh muscle to the knee bone. Apart from this, the supporting tissue present on both sides of the knee was also damaged. After all the tests, the team of doctors considered surgery as the best option.

Nandamuri Balakrishna underwent surgery on 23 July. In the medical bulletin issued by the hospital, it was said that the operation lasted for about three hours and was completely successful.

According to the hospital, at present the condition of Nandamuri Balakrishna is stable and he has been kept under post-operative observation. Doctors are constantly monitoring his health.

After the news of Balakrishna’s injury came to light, Nara Lokesh, Minister of Human Resource Development, Information Technology and Electronics in the Andhra Pradesh government, spoke to him on phone and wished him a speedy recovery.
