New Delhi, March 4 (IANS). Not only medicine, our behavior and lifestyle also decide our health. On this, Ayurveda has a special principle called Achar Rasayan. Achar Rasayan means such conduct and way of living, which keeps both body and mind healthy.
Ayurveda believes that if a person lives his life with truthfulness, restraint, cleanliness, compassion and positive thinking, he can remain healthy for a long time. According to Achar Rasayan, small everyday things like sleeping on time, maintaining cleanliness, respecting elders and controlling anger are directly related to our health.
First of all let’s talk about personal conduct. The special importance of daily routine and menstrual cycle has been mentioned in Ayurveda. Adopt a regular routine every day and change your diet and lifestyle according to the season. Waking up early in the morning, doing regular exercise, oil massage as per need, wearing clean and weather-appropriate clothes, all these seem like small things, but play a big role in keeping the body balanced.
Besides, taking special care of cleanliness is also a part of Achar Rasayan. Like washing hands after defecation, before and after eating or after sneezing and coughing. These habits not only protect us from infection, but also keep the people around us safe.
Now let’s talk about social conduct. Achar Rasayan tells us to speak the truth, speak sweetly and not have violence or ill will towards anyone. It has been advised to control emotions like greed, anger, jealousy, ego etc. Because these negative emotions gradually increase mental stress, and mental stress can become the root of many diseases.
Ayurveda also says that certain natural impulses such as hunger, thirst, sleep, sneezing or urination should not be restrained. Stopping these can cause disorders in the body.
