Nutmeg is one such aromatic and spicy spice. Nutmeg is helpful in getting relief from stomach and skin diseases, but when and how to use it matters a lot.

In Ayurveda, nutmeg has been given the title of Ayurvedic gem. It is considered nectar for body, mind and soul. Its nature is hot and it is a vata sedative, so it helps in balancing vata and kapha doshas in the body. Nutmeg has anti-inflammatory properties which help in reducing any kind of swelling in the body. Apart from this, the neuro protective properties present in it are helpful in balancing the brain and reducing stress. Nutmeg also has properties that strengthen the digestive system and is also helpful in eliminating harmful bacteria present in the body.

Nutmeg can be used to get relief from many everyday problems. For example, if you have trouble sleeping, taking nutmeg powder mixed with milk at night will provide relief. Nutmeg helps calm the brain, resulting in good sleep. Nutmeg also provides relief from skin related problems.

To get rid of acne and dark spots on the face, rub some nutmeg with raw milk. Apply its paste on the affected area only and wash it after 10 minutes. After washing, apply aloe vera on the face, this will reduce irritation. Nutmeg also provides relief in dental problems.

In case of toothache and swollen gums, soak cotton in nutmeg oil and apply it on the area where there is pain. Nutmeg has the ability to reduce pain and it also helps in reducing swelling.

Nutmeg can also be used in case of cold and phlegm. In such a situation, its powder should be taken by mixing it with honey or it can also be taken by mixing it with milk. This method is effective for children and adults.
