Bhubaneswar, December 7 (IANS). Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday paid tribute to 100-year-old Dr. K. of Brahmapur. Appreciated the generous gesture of Lakshmi Bai. Chief Minister Majhi said that Lakshmi Bai donated her lifetime earnings to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for oncology research on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

Chief Minister Majhi described his donation as an inspiring act of strong human values ​​and dedication towards public service.

Obstetrician and Gynecologist K. Lakshmi Bai donated Rs 3.4 crore of her savings to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Institute on the occasion of her centenary birthday on Friday.

His noble act instantly made headlines in Odisha and earned him widespread praise from all sections of the society.

President Draupadi Murmu also on Friday met centenarian Dr. Appreciated this generous act of Lakshmi Bai. Lakshmi Bai was a student of the first batch of Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack in 1945.

He completed his MBBS in 1950 and started his career as a government doctor in Sundergarh.

She later served as a professor in the departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Burla Medical College, Cuttack Medical College and Berhampur Medical College, from where she eventually retired.
