New Delhi, May 6 (IANS). Papaya rich in nutrients proves to be a boon for health. It is not only sweet and juicy in taste but the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants present in it benefit the body in many ways.
The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India shares special information on the health-promoting properties of papaya and recommends its consumption. Papaya is a good source of vitamin A, C, E, folate, potassium and fiber. Eating papaya daily keeps the body healthy and energetic. Especially it is very useful in strengthening bones and improving the health of hair. Many healthy properties are found in papaya and its consumption provides many health benefits.
The papain enzyme found in papaya helps in digesting food easily. This relieves problems like constipation, gas and indigestion. Eating papaya regularly keeps the stomach healthy and makes the digestive system strong. It also keeps infections away.
Vitamin C is found in abundance in papaya, which strengthens the immune system. This increases the ability to fight cold, viral infections and other diseases.
The antioxidants in papaya make the skin healthy and glowing. It helps in reducing acne, blemishes and slows down the aging process of the skin. It also strengthens the bones. Vitamin K and calcium present in papaya play an important role in increasing bone density. This strengthens the bones and reduces the risk of problems like osteoporosis. It is very beneficial especially for the elderly and women. Not only this, papaya prevents hair fall, makes them strong and shiny. Vitamin A and E present in it nourish the hair roots and also control problems like dandruff.
