New Delhi, March 29 (IANS). It is important to be careful while eating during the summer season. Parwal vegetable is very effective for people suffering from constipation, gas and indigestion. Health experts recommend including nutrient-rich parwal in your diet in summer.
This vegetable strengthens the digestive system and provides many health benefits. The scientific name of Parwal is Trichosanthes dioica Roxb. It contains abundant amount of fiber which improves digestion. Antioxidants are also found in parwal, and it is helpful in purifying the blood.
According to research, Parwal is rich in protein and Vitamin A. It has medicinal properties, which prove helpful in controlling blood sugar and triglycerides levels.
Parwal has special importance in Ayurveda and Unani system of medicine. In the ancient text Charak Samhita, the fruits and leaves of Parwal are mentioned for the treatment of many diseases including jaundice. It is also called ‘Triptighna’ because it helps in providing satiety from food.
