Patna, July 5 (IANS). Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inspected the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna on Sunday and assured all possible support from the state government for the expansion of the institute. He said that 24 acres of additional land will soon be made available for the expansion of AIIMS, which will add about 200 new beds to the hospital and provide better health facilities to the patients.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the health services, medical infrastructure and future development plans with the AIIMS administration and officials. He said that the state government is fully committed to expanding quality health services and strengthening the medical system. The Chief Minister directed to complete the proposed four-lane road construction work from AIIMS, Patna to Nathupur soon.
He said that with the construction of this road, it will be much easier for patients, their families and common people to reach the hospital. Samrat Chaudhary assured full support from the state government in developing a system of skin storage in AIIMS to make the treatment of burn patients more effective.
He inspected the burn ward, met the admitted patients and inquired about the medical facilities being provided to them. He also encouraged the patients and their families and wished for their speedy recovery. During the inspection, the Chief Minister also took stock of the Pet-CT Room, Spec-CT Room and Radio Pharmacy Lab in the Nuclear Medicine Department.
Apart from this, he inspected the Oncology Department, Anatomy Department and OPD and reviewed the arrangements there. While inspecting the pond located in AIIMS campus, the Chief Minister directed for its renovation. He said that the pond should be developed as a center of tourism and attraction along with environmental protection, so that it can become a beautiful and useful place for the people.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the State Government will actively cooperate in all the necessary works related to the development of AIIMS, Patna, so that the scope of modern and better health services can be continuously expanded in Bihar.
