PM Modi praised progress in TB eradication, laid emphasis on public participation

New Delhi, March 24 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the Health Ministry for the progress made in TB eradication. He also praised Union Health Minister JP Nadda for this.

Earlier, Union Health Minister JP Nadda reiterated the government’s commitment in detail by posting on ‘X’ on the occasion of World TB Day.

He wrote, “On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, we reiterate our commitment to eliminate TB and ensure better health for all, especially those most at risk. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made remarkable progress through the ‘National TB Elimination Programme’. Under this, efforts for prevention, detection and treatment have been further strengthened.”

He further added, “This year’s theme, ‘Yes! We can end TB. Led by India. Through the power of public participation’, reflects our shared commitment and belief in a TB-free future. Heartfelt gratitude to all healthcare workers for their tireless service and compassionate care. Let us together continue to work towards building a ‘TB-free India’ and ‘a healthy, strong nation’.”

At the same time, the Health Ministry also wrote on ‘X’, “India’s campaign against TB is not just a public health effort. It is a testament to the ability of our nation to come together for a cause that impacts the lives of millions of people.”
