Kota, May 10 (IANS). Serious questions have once again arisen regarding the health of pregnant women in Kota, Rajasthan. After the new hospital of Kota Medical College, now a case of death of one woman after caesarean delivery has come to light in JK Lone Hospital, while the kidney failure of two other women has increased the concern in the medical department.
According to the information, Priya, wife of Rohit Mahawar, resident of Suwansa village of Bundi district, had a cesarean delivery done at JK Lone Hospital on Saturday. A few hours after delivery, her health suddenly started deteriorating and she died around 12:30 pm on Saturday night. It is being told that Priya got married only about two years ago, due to which a mountain of sorrow has fallen on the family. According to the hospital administration, the deceased already had heart problems.
Superintendent of JK Lon Hospital, Dr. Nirmala Sharma said that the deceased woman was already suffering from heart related disease and was complaining of chest pain. Despite better treatment by doctors, he could not be saved. The situation of kidney failure of two pregnant women named Aarti and Pinky has come to light. Both of them had stopped urinating. Aarti was admitted to the Super Specialty Block (SSB) of the New Hospital of the Medical College on Saturday morning, but she had to be shifted to the ICU when her condition deteriorated in the afternoon. At the same time, Pinky was also referred to SSB at night, where a team of specialist doctors from Jaipur is treating her.
The Superintendent further said that at present the condition of both is said to be improving. Dr. Sharma said that the entire medical department is concerned about the reasons for kidney failure in pregnant women and at present it is not clear as to what are the reasons for such a situation.
It is noteworthy that earlier cases of death of two women and kidney failure of six women have been reported in Kota Medical College also. Of these, two serious patients are undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
