Repeatedly heated food is a feast for diseases, understand here

New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). Be it laziness or the temptation of leftover food, people do not shy away from reheating stale food and consuming it again and again. But, this very habit invites hundred diseases. Ayurveda says freshly cooked food is best for health.

The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, warns people against the serious harm caused by repeatedly heating food and advises them to include only freshly cooked food in their plate.

According to Ayurveda, freshly cooked food is the real key to health, whereas the habit of eating the same food after heating it again and again makes the body gradually hollow. In Ayurveda it is clearly called ‘harmful food’. Such food unbalances the three doshas of the body – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

As Vata Dosha increases, a person starts having problems like restlessness, anxiety, joint pain and insomnia. When Pitta Dosha worsens, acidity, gas, burning sensation in the mouth, skin rashes and anger increase. At the same time, due to increase in Kapha dosha, laziness, heaviness, obesity and respiratory problems start. By eating this kind of food for a long time, the body’s immunity also starts weakening.

In such a situation, the person feels tired, lethargic and weak all the time. Even minor seasonal diseases can easily affect one. Anxiety and mental problems surround you. When food is heated, the nutrients present in it start getting destroyed and in some cases, harmful compounds also start forming, which can increase the risk of many serious diseases.

According to Ayurveda, “Fresh and pure food is the greatest medicine.” The food which is cooked once and eaten immediately, nourishes the body and protects it from diseases.
