Astana, January 13 (IANS). An Indian student died while two other students were injured in a road accident in Oskemen city of Kazakhstan. The Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan has confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
The Indian Embassy said in a statement released on social media platform 25 year old student Mili Mohan died in this accident. Whereas, Aashika Sheejanmini Santosh and Jasina B. Got injured.
According to the embassy, both the injured girl students have been admitted to City Hospital No. 1 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, where their condition is said to be stable. The embassy has expressed its deep condolences to the family of the deceased student and said that it is in constant touch with the university administration, hospital authorities and the families of the victims.
The Indian Embassy also reminded that earlier on January 6, 2026, in another road accident near Almaty, two Indian students were killed, while three others were injured. In that case, the Embassy had said that the treatment of the injured was going on and arrangements were being made to send the mortal remains of the deceased students to India on priority basis.
The Embassy has said that it will maintain coordination with the local administration and related agencies regarding the safety of Indian students in Kazakhstan and has assured all possible assistance to the families in this difficult time.
