New Delhi, November 16 (IANS). If there is no hormonal balance, many problems can develop in the body. In such a situation, these problems can be kept away by practicing Sarvangasana daily. This is a very beneficial asana for thyroid, blood circulation and mental peace.
This asana is beneficial for all parts of the body, hence it got the name ‘Sarvangasana’. Its regular practice improves hormonal balance, digestion and reduces stress. Practice this asana in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening.
Experts explain how to practice Sarvangasana. For this, first of all lie straight on the back on the yoga mat. Keep both hands along the body and palms facing the ground. Now take a deep breath and slowly raise both the legs, keeping the knees straight. When the legs are bent, support the waist with hands. During this, keep the elbows on the ground and keep the body straight from shoulders to head, as if standing upside down. Keep the chin close to the chest, maintain balance in this position and breathe normally. Initially stay in this posture for 30 seconds to 1 minute, after that gradually increase the time. To come back, slowly lower the legs and relax.
Sarvangasana stimulates the thyroid gland, which is helpful in hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. It pumps blood to the brain, improving memory, concentration and sleep. The digestive system becomes stronger, constipation is cured and belly fat is reduced. The spine becomes flexible and shoulder and neck pain gets relieved. It is also very beneficial for women. Irregularities or pain in periods are reduced. This asana increases immunity, makes the skin glowing and provides relief from stress and depression. Not only this, its regular practice also improves heart health.
The practice of Sarvangasana is extremely beneficial for the entire body. However, experts recommend taking some special precautions. Pregnant women, those in periods, persons with heart disease should avoid practicing this asana. If you have headache, migraine or sinus problem, do not put pressure on your neck during exercise, otherwise injury may occur.
