Mumbai, December 9 (IANS). In today’s time, everyone wants to have a healthy and good body, but due to busy routine, it is a bit difficult for people to achieve this. ‘Trikonasana’ is a yoga asana which can be done in less time and by doing which one gets many benefits.
By doing this yoga asana regularly, the muscles become flexible and blood circulation improves. By practicing daily, the body gets stretched on the right and left sides, which increases the activity of the muscles of the back, hands and legs.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Trikonasana is a yoga asana which makes the body flexible, balanced and powerful. Additionally, it improves digestion and strengthens the muscles of the waist and thighs.
To do this, spread both the legs at a distance of 3 to 4 feet on the yoga mat. Turn the right foot 90 degrees outward and turn the left foot slightly inward. Now spread the shoulders of both the hands straight and keep your palms downwards. Slowly bend to the right and try to touch the right foot or ankle with the right hand. Keep your left hand straight upwards. Stay in this position for 20 to 30 seconds. Keep breathing normal. Then slowly come back to Tadasana. Repeat the same process on the left side.
While doing this, the arms, legs and spine form a triangle, and it is also helpful in reducing stress, but caution should be taken in conditions like slipped disc or sciatica.
Trikonasana is an exercise whose regular practice helps in controlling weight. It also reduces stress and anxiety, and also increases balance and concentration.
Regular practice of Trikonasana increases the energy of the body. However, it is advisable to take several precautions while practicing it.
