'Shashkasana' will provide relief from the stress of hectic lifestyle

New Delhi, December 3 (IANS). Due to being busy with office and household work, our lifestyle has become uncontrolled and stress and anxiety have become a daily challenge. In such a situation, doing yoga can help in achieving inner peace. One of these is ‘Shashkasana’. This is considered to be a very simple, easy and mind calming asana.

Its daily practice not only provides relief to the spine, shoulders and back but also relieves mental stress.

‘Shashkasana’ is also called rabbit pose in English. ‘Shashak’ means ‘rabbit’. Just as a rabbit feels safe after curling up in its den, similarly this asana makes the practitioner feel relaxed and peaceful.

To do this, you sit on the yoga mat in Vrajasana (sit with your legs bent and the spine should be straight). Now take a deep breath and slowly move the body downwards while moving the hands upwards. Now place your forehead and palms on the ground. Sit in this position as per your convenience and come to normal position. You can repeat this asana for 10 to 15 minutes.

The Ministry of AYUSH also recommends regular practice of ‘Shashakasana’ as its regular practice relieves stress, anxiety and improves digestion and also relaxes the back muscles.

Shashankasana stretches the spine and brings flexibility. Regular practice of this asana gives you relief from back problems.

By doing this regularly, the blood flow in the lower part of the stomach becomes faster. Also, this asana is a very good treatment for diabetes and gas control.

Experts recommend that if you are suffering from serious health problems, like back pain, dizziness, or knee problems, then be careful while doing this or consult a doctor before doing it.
