Coronavirus has started spreading again in the country. In the first 17 days of July, 339 cases have been reported and four patients have died. Maximum 115 cases have been reported in Kerala. The figures for other states are: Karnataka (64), Maharashtra (43), Delhi (18), Tamil Nadu (39), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (18), Rajasthan (12) and Andhra Pradesh (12). It is noteworthy that four patients have died in Andhra Pradesh and Kadapa district of the state is affected by this virus.

**First case of coronavirus reported in Andhra Pradesh**
It is noteworthy that the first case of coronavirus in the country was reported in Andhra Pradesh. Kadapa district of the state became the first victim of this infection. The first case in the country was reported on June 26. After that, 12 cases were reported between July 1 and July 17. Between June 26 and July 17, 67 people were tested for the virus across the state, 12 of whom were found positive. The 12th case was reported at Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

**Four out of 12 infected patients died**

Of the 12 infected patients, three are in home isolation and two are undergoing treatment in the Covid ward of the hospital. Meanwhile, three patients have recovered and returned home, while four have died. All four patients who died had pre-existing health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease before contracting the virus. Of those who died, three were from Cuddapah and one from Kakinada. A Covid ward has been created at RIMS Hospital in Kadapa.

**Coronavirus pandemic in 2020**

The coronavirus pandemic spread across the country in March 2020. Lockdown and Covid protocols remained in force till 2021. During that time, lakhs of people across the country got infected and lakhs of people lost their lives. To deal with the threat of Covid-19, the central government vaccinated citizens and gave booster doses to senior citizens. Certificates were also given to those who got vaccinated. Now, the virus has once again started spreading across the country.
