New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). Winter season has a special effect on the digestive system. With this season, problems like flatulence, constipation, gas and indigestion become common. In such a situation, experts recommend including sprouted grains in the food plate which keep both body and mind healthy.
The AYUSH Department of Madhya Pradesh states that consumption of sprouted grains is very beneficial for the digestive system and is an easy and natural cure for the problems related to them.
Sprouted grains not only keep the digestion healthy, but also nourish the entire body and make both body and mind healthy. In the process of germination, all the nutrients hidden inside the grains increase manifold. The protein in ordinary moong and gram increases when germinated. Similarly, the amount of Vitamin-C, Vitamin-B complex, iron, calcium and antioxidants also increases manifold. The biggest thing is that during germination, enzymes become active, which help in digesting the food easily.
Including sprouted grains in your diet provides not just one or two, but many benefits. The abundant amount of fiber removes problems like constipation, indigestion, gas and keeps the intestines clean. Due to enzymes, vitamins and minerals are easily available to the body. Provides full nutrition with less calories and reduces hunger. This helps in weight control. Vitamin C and antioxidants protect from infection. Immunity increases. Increasing the amount of iron provides relief in anemia and removes blood deficiency. This also improves skin and hair. Biotin and protein prevent hair fall and bring shine.

Making it is also very simple and hassle-free. Soak moong, gram, black gram or mixed grains overnight. In the morning, drain the water, wrap it in a wet cloth and keep it for 8 to 10 hours. The next day, you can eat freshly sprouted grains by adding lemon, black salt, roasted cumin, making chaat or mixing it with vegetables. It is best for breakfast.
